Artist Biography
 |
Experience Brett Kissel, the young man with the complete package.
He’s an inspiring artist, a gifted writer, a talented musician,
but most of all, he’s a superb entertainer.
This 2 time Canadian Country Music Association Nominee (youngest
in CCMA history) has been energizing audiences since he was a youngster.
But now, the music industry better look out! Brett Kissel has sold
out 27 consecutive shows and concerts during the fall and spring
of 2007 and 2008, and has received standing ovations and encores
from crowds at the mainstage of Big Valley Jamboree to the Kamloops
Cowboy Festival. He has emceed and performed at the top Canadian
Festivals, been acknowledged as one of the top young, Alberta songwriters
at the Western Canadian Music Awards, and has the Premier of Alberta
– Ed Stelmach – as one of his most loyal fans. Not to
mention releasing 4 independent albums along the way, all experiencing
tremendous success. In fact, the young Alberta ranch kid has sold
over 20,000 albums off stage alone!
Growing up on a cattle ranch north east of Edmonton has given Brett
a great appreciation for his rural roots and has put Brett on the
proper path when dealing with his success. Hugh McLennan - host
of the famous Spirit of the West Radio show said it best: “What
fans love most about Brett is his respect and understanding”.
And Brett certainly does understand what it takes to be a first
class musician - performing at over 150 events a year and working
tirelessly to give a stunning show to each audience from coast to
coast. At a recent performance at the Ottawa Super Exhibition, Joe
Pavia, manager of programming and marketing complimented: “Brett
Kissel ruled the stage, letting his infectious enthusiasm for his
material and his rapport with the varied audience demographic, enthral
everyone.”
Brett reached many of his goals in 2008 while it became the biggest
year for the young, country crooner. During the spring of 2008 he
released his 4th album titled 'My Roots Run Deep'. Brett released
this album in style with a sold out concert at Edmonton's Premiere
Performing Arts Theatre - the Winspear Centre on May 9, 2008, which
also celebrated his 18th birthday. The first single off of the album
scored a number 1 hit on 790 CFCW with a song he penned –
“Queen on the River”. However this was not Brett's first
#1 song. In early 2007, Brett released "Dance with this old
Cowboy" with friend and country legend Gary Fjellgaard which
shot straight to number one and stayed there for 8 weeks. This song
then was awarded the most requested and most played song of 2007
on 790 CFCW!
Over the past 5 years of Brett's music career, his fans and his
peers in the country music industry have seen him progress immensely
in his entertaining, singing, guitar playing, and song writing.
Brett Kissel's star is definitely rising, and it won't be long until
you see him at the very top of the country music pyramid! Don’t
pass up your opportunity to experience Brett Kissel!

an all ladies equestrian drill team based out of the Hinton/Edson
area. The team was originally formed for the very purpose of
riding in the Jasper Heritage Rodeo and they have performed
in various other Alberta rodeos throughout the years as well.
They are very excited to be back at the Jasper Heritage Rodeo
again this year. The ladies each have their own horses and have
put a great deal of time and effort into making their show as
innovative and entertaining as possible. |
