The Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce invites you to dust off yer
10 gallon hat, spit shine them boots and bring your possy to their
first ďJeans and BeansĒ fundraiser. There isnít a better way to
kick off rodeo week than a leisurely lunch cowboy style and perhaps
toss in a bit of two stepping with Moonshine Marmalade, a new and
entertaining Jasper Band. Where you ask? The Royal Canadian Legion.
When you ask? Monday, August 13th, 2012 starting at noon and running
till the band can play no more! How much you ask? A mere $20 GST included! Tickets will be available in advance at the
Legion and Chamber office starting August 1st and at the door. Git
yers while thereís still plenty to go around!
The Jasper Rodeo Wranglers will be riding twice daily all week long.
Theyíre lookiní for folks in their western duds and awarding prizes.
So dust off yer hat and dig deep in yer closets folks! Times will
vary through the week. Tickets are available daily at the Athabasca
Hotel in the heart of Jasper's townsite and after 4 pm at the Jasper
Activity Centre. Giddy up and get yours!
Itís as good as it gets when you rodeo in the Rockies! Catch the
thrills and spills as professional cowboys rope, ride and race against
the clock. The fun begins at 7 pm at the Jasper Activity Centre
each night. Doors open at 6 pm with rush seating.
Who knew poop could pay? Jasper Businesses are eagerly watching
for Miss Rodeo Jasper and her trusty mount riding through the downtown
core all week. If they have purchased a spot on our Monplopoly board
and when MRJís steed ĎdepositsĒ, they WIN! 10 lucky winners will
be awarded a gift basket chock full of great items from the fine
folks at Molson.
The MS BBQ crew as they fundraise to stop Multiple Sclerosis. Itís
service with a smile and a Rocky Mountain view at the annual Rodeo
BBQ. It all happens in the CIBC bank parking lot from 11 am to 2
The annual Stick Pony Parade is scheduled for 10 am from the Jasper
Activity Centre parking lot. Any child who wishes to participate
can meet there, bring their favourite stick pony and dress the part
too! There is no charge for this event that will wind through the
town site and include Miss Rodeo Jasper, mascots and wagons.
It is judgment day and Jasperís very own rodeo royalty will judge
the annual Jasper Tourism and Commerce Business Decorating Contest.
You donít want to miss your chance to impress these ladies so rustle
up some team spirit and decorate! Git along now!
It is family night at the rodeo, so round up your brood and head
Ever thought what it would be like to be a rodeo clown or queen?
Two lucky youngsters will have won that opportunity! One youngster
will tag along with our rodeo clown and barrel man, Dennis Halstead
and another will ride with royalty as they live the rodeo life for
an afternoon! How much fun is that? You wonít be able to miss them;
theyíll be wearing big smiles in the VIP seats at the performance!
It isnít just about luck tonight as one youngster treats his or
her family to a night at the rodeo courtesy of the Colouring Contest!
Liíl wranglers have been busy with their crayons and itís time to
ante up a reward for their effort. Congratulations to the winner
for some fancy artwork! Enjoy the Thursday, Family Night Performance!
Join the members of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Brigade for a pancake
breakfast in the parking lot of Jasper's very own fire brigade digs,
the fire hall, of course! Proceeds from this event support the Edmonton
Burn Unit. The breakfast runs from 9 to 11 am on Saturday August
15th. Come one, come all, come hungry!
Because Breast Cancer can affect the lives of so many, those in
the world of professional rodeo have made it their business to raise
awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer! Join us
in this fight as this rodeo performance sees the cowboys, cowgirls,
rodeo committee and royalty demonstrate their commitment to this
cause. Itís Tough Enough to Wear Pink night Ė donít miss it!
Children of all ages are invited to the ATCO Liíl Britches Corral
where everyone has free admission to the rodeo arena to have their
faces painted, go for a horseback ride, learn to rope, cavort with
mascots, and catch a glimpse of the outside from inside a rodeo
clownís barrel. Too wild and wooly for you? How about a photo taken
with rodeo royalty or a visit with a cowboy poet? There is fun for
everyone! Drop by the arena grounds from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Be one
of the first Li'l Britches to stampede through our doors at high
noon and you'll wrangle yerself a free straw hat! NOTE: an adult
MUST accompany children under the age of 9.
You just havenít been to the 2012 edition of the Jasper Heritage
Rodeo, if you havenít been to the rodeo dance. The grown up fun
starts Saturday evening at 9 pm in the curling arena (same building
as the rodeo).
